Simone Cromwell, MA, LMFT

I love my job! I’ve been called relentless for my commitment to helping people better understand and thrive in their lives and relationships. To that end, I persistently continue my education and training so that I can better provide you with the most up-to-date, practical, and hopeful therapy.

I hold a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have extensive training with Terry Real in the Relationship Life Therapy model, and in sex therapy. I see individuals, couples of all kinds, families, gay and lesbian couples. I treat various mental health diagnoses. My office is safe, comfortable, and is often a place of healing.

Because I love my job, you will always have my full, undivided attention and all my training and experience applied to your needs. When you return to therapy each week, I will remember who you are and the details of your story. You will always be the most important person/couple/family in the room!

COUPLE THERAPY

Although they did their best, most of us grew up in a family that modeled a dysfunctional way of behaving in a relationship. It is not surprising that we relive those relationships with our current partners. We don't trust each other. Sometimes we don't trust ourselves! We bottle up our emotions and frustrations and we have no idea how to work through conflicts, disagreements and criticism in a healthy, functional way. That’s when we behave badly, shut down, withdraw, give up, become passive aggressive or just aggressive! None of this works and then, we make things worse by just applying these methods with greater determination! And often, we do this while the kids are watching!

I can help you pull your relationship out of the weeds and back into health. My no-nonsense teaching and then coaching of healthy relationship skills can help change dysfunctional patterns and replace them with new, healing patterns of relating to one another. At the end of therapy, many couples report a deeper, more loving healthier and much more grown up relationship. And no one wants to go back to their old relationship.

Special Topics: In addition to couple’s therapy, I also work with couples through a variety of challenging situations including: affairs, sex therapy, separation, divorce, step families, parent/child relationships, and the challenges faced by same sex couples.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual Therapy

Need help? C’mon in!

Whether it’s depression, anxiety, job performance, weight loss, or things “just aren’t right”, your struggle to feel better on your own hasn’t worked, and you need somewhere to turn. In therapy, you will have my undivided attention as I work with you to figure out what you’re doing that’s not working, and help you replace it with something that does.

New to therapy? You’ll land in a comfortable, safe environment where you have the time to unpack your story, without judgement or shame. You will receive homework assignments that are tailored to you specifically so that therapy can last all week and, if you get stuck, you can always call or email for a quick boost between sessions.

Already tried other therapists? My dynamic, effective approach has folks commenting that they’ve “never been to a therapist like this before!” I cut to the chase and move quickly, which many find refreshing and much more useful. Need a slower approach? All therapy is personalized for your individual needs and temperaments. What you won’t get are platitudes and hand-patting.

Still not sure? You can always call or email your questions or concerns without any obligation to continue.
