Genuine Community
“Where we just see each other”
The definition of Community is “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals”. I’d like to deepen that for today’s living in this world.
I hear many people feeling isolated, alone and overwhelmed with life, carrying their worries and burdens on themselves.
I’d like to define what genuine community is.
Where we just see each other.
No expectations, no obligations. You’re not being nice to me because I’m buying, getting something from you. You’re not being nice to me because I’m seen as having the same interest as you. (Because then I have to show it and work for it)
You’re just being you. So I can just be me.
We’re all equal. The same. Regardless of any outward shared common interest or goal.
And by being ourselves there is ease, flow, spontaneity and authentic connection.
This is where the magic happens. Because living as a human being here in this world, we are meant to connect, to collaborate, to create together, to learn from each other. Especially strangers. Especially from someone who is not who you expect, and not in a role you expect.
Then you can be open. To receive more goodness and grow so much more together. We then connect over the simplest things. The weather. Being human living as a human being. Then we’re “being” with each other. We’re not meant to be alone. But all inter-connected.
And it is here I see all the ripples of goodness and kindness ripple out and travel from one person to the other. This is genuine community.
So, I’d like to honor that.
